Manhattan Mini Storage, a storage company on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York has posted a billboard with the quote, “Your closet space is shrinking as fast as her right to choose,” with the picture of a coat hanger, a wire coat hanger. Now anyone who values the political and moral views of a storage company better rethink their compasses, but did the billboard go over the edge?
As a pro-lifer myself, I don’t expect any less of those who are on the side of death. Showing a hanger and poking fun at what could be used as possible abortifacient is ill humor. It is also uncompassionate towards women, insulting their womanhood and intelligence. This billboard offends me. I
If there are people who see this ad whose daughters, mothers, grandmothers, etc. died from illegal abortion, imagine how they could be affected. Imagine how the billboard could affect women who have had legal abortions who regret their decision. A lot of women are adversly affected by their abortion decision.
There are thousands of women in post abortion counseling. Just go onto www.silentnomoreawareness.org and read the many stories of women who regret their abortion. Abortion is not a joking matter. If this billboard were joking about AIDS, Cancer, Alzheimers, etc. there would be quite an uproar.
This billboard is just witness as to how the pro-abortion side trying to normalize abortion and bring it into everyday life. Pro-abortion forces have been trying to get us immune to the fact that abortion is the taking of human life. They have been trying to do this for years with paraphernalia such as their t-shirts, buttons, mugs, etc. Also, abortion is run of the mill in Hollywood, being mentioned on many television shows and movies as, “OK.”
Besides women’s “health” services, Planned Parenthood offers logos that you can get on T-shirts, coffee mugs, buttons, etc. “Abortion: Not an easy choice, sometimes the best choice, always a woman’s choice,” can grace your morning cup of java. Now I’d like to know when pro-abortion people think that abortion is not the best choice because it only says, “sometimes it’s the best choice.” How do they measure when it’s not a good choice? Does Planned Parenthood ever advise a woman not to have an abortion?
For children, “Mommy’s little choice,” on a bib is perfect and fetching for catching your little pundits drool at the park or playground. Your little rebel can also have a “hoodie” that has a skull and crossbones on it with the quote, “Abortion on demand courtesy of Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.” The best thing is to indoctrinate early.
Manhattan Planned Parenthood even went to the extent of offering free abortions to women whose loved ones were victims of the 9-11 tragedy. In the aftermath of the World Trade Center sabotage and collapse, Planned Parenthood in a press release offered free pregnancy terminations. Now that’s compassion!
As for my closet, it could use a makeover. My clothes, many pairs of shoes, accessories, laundry, etc. are stuffed into it but peacefully coexist. I do have the luxury of having a walk-in. Imelda ain’t got nothin on me.
As for the billboard, I do hope it is right in one respect. That the right to “choose” is shrinking. That people’s tolerance to abortion is shrinking. I wish that America would get abortion out of its closet and that there is never enough room for it again.

[...] about a conversation about abortion. They care about the conversation that apparently everyone is having about them now. [...]
The ad is certainly not insulting to a woman’s intelligence. It is merely a parallel to a republican using the pro life – anti gay platform in order to win the conservative vote and further his/her own agenda (rarely delivering on their promises anyhow). Anyone with an agenda – whether it be to secure votes or sales plays on people’s emotions and it is truly an effective strategy.
Planned Parenthood does in fact offer women’s “health” services other than abortion. “BURBS girl” – I wonder what burb you are from? Newtown? Yardley? I wonder if you ever had to worry how you would pay for a gynecological visit? I wonder if you had no role model as a mother or father that could guide as to what is right and wrong sexually? I doubt it.
The harsh harsh words and hypocrisy of the conservative right is what is lacking in compassion.
For every woman who regrets their decision to have an abortion – a woman who preaches pro life- but has taken her daughter silently for an abortion exists. A LOT of women regret their decision?? What kind of stat is that?? To be equally silly and naive shall I counter to say a lot A LOT of conservative men molest young boys and have homosexual affairs?
I am elated that I still have more control over my uterus than some penis with a law degree who preaches pro life and then denies lower income children health insurance..
I thought the ad was rather humorous..as humorous as the christian holier than thou girl in my catholic high school who had her abortion sophomore year over xmas break..and still preaches pro life..sick hypocrisy breeding freaks…
